Donor Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes. Franklin Center works with DAF Direct so that you can recommend grants to us directly from your DAF (as long as your DAF’s sponsoring organization is participating).

Company Matching Gifts
Many companies will match donations from current and retired employees ― that could double or triple the size of your gift! Ask your human resources or community relations department if your organization offers a matching gifts program. And if you can set it up as a recurring gift during your company’s annual giving program, we would love that!
Gifts In-Kind
If you would like to make a donation in the form of goods or services, we would love to receive them! Everything from books for our library, to computers, food, arts and crafts materials, handyman services, tickets to events, school supplies – pretty much anything you can think of – we can use it, and you can get a tax break! Forms are available at the front office. Stop by to talk to us or contact our advancement team at advancement@franklinmn.org if you’d like to talk about options.
Memorials & Tributes

A memorial or tribute is a wonderful way to honor a friend or loved one while supporting a cause that you both believe in and cherish. There are many occasions when a tribute can be a priceless gift that shows how much you care – birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day.

When a memorial or tribute gift is received, a note is sent to the honoree or in the case of a memorial, the family of the honoree, telling them of your thoughtfulness. Unless otherwise requested, all memorials and tributes will appear in Franklin’s Annual Report, listing both the donor and the person being honored or memorialized.

If no direction is given, the gifts are placed in the Annual Fund. Make a memorial or tribute gift by clicking here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Annual Giving Campaign?

Each year parents, grandparents, alumni families, and friends are asked to make charitable gifts to Franklin Center’s Annual Giving Campaign. These contributions supplement tuition income and enable the school to meet its annual operating expenses.

Like most independent schools, the tuition charged (while significant) does not cover total operating expenses. This year, our tuition gap is $3,285 per student.

What expenses does the Annual Giving Campaign support?

The Annual Giving Campaign directly supports the essentials and the extras and provides the margin of excellence that we all associate with Franklin Center. Academics, Fine Arts, Specialized Faculty, Enhanced Learning, Healthy Activities & Life Sills, Tuition Assistance, are some of the many programs which are greatly affected by the magnitude of the Annual Giving Campaign.

Why not raise tuition so that it covers 100% of the operating budget?

Charging the “full” tuition would put a Franklin Center education out of the reach of many qualified students. The learning diversity represented by the student body is an important aspect of the Franklin Center community that the school values and seeks to preserve. It is necessary to find a fair way to counter increasing costs without significantly raising the tuition. Voluntary giving to the Annual Giving Campaign is an equitable way to counter rising educational costs and it is, unlike tuition payments, tax-deductible.

Why should I give to the Annual Giving Campaign?

First, participating in the Annual Giving Campaign to the best of your ability is one of the most meaningful ways to show support for Franklin Center and the people who make a difference.

Second, the Annual Giving Campaign ensures quality in all that Franklin Center is and does. It secures the current educational experience that parents, grandparents, alumni families and friends of Franklin have come to value and respect. Franklin Center students deserve the best education that we can provide.

Third, foundations and major donors that support funding opportunities at Franklin Center put a high premium on the percentage of participation among alumni families and parents to the Annual Giving Campaign. Generous and widespread support indicates to them that “the customers are satisfied” and the school is worthy of their investment.

Franklin families offering their financial support have helped shape the school we know today. We hope you will help us carry on that responsibility and ensure the quality of a Franklin Center education for our current students as well as those to come.
